mt_ignore Jewellery designer and maker Alessia Semeraro works with poor materials like iron and burnt wood, as opposed to 24ct gold and silver. Her aesthetic vision is minimalistic and abstract with an emphasis on material integrity and proportion rather than forms.

After 10 years in marketing and graphic design in the consultancy field in Milan, she followed her long life passion for jewellery design and began studying at the Central St.Martin's, then at the Metropolitan University in London. Later she returned to her country of birth to study at the Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence. Alessia was largely selected for international exhibitions in renowned jewellery galleries and fairs, including Sofa NY and Chicago, Schmuck in Munich, and Collect at the V&A Museum in London.
Her works are in the collection of the Silversmithing Museum of Palazzo Pitti in Florence. She has been published in many publications including the Lark Books' 500 series. Her pieces are on show and sale in the best galleries in US and Europe.
Born in a rural environment in the north-east of Italy, she travelled very young to study and live in different cities: Milan, London, Florence, Mexico City, Barcelona.

She is co-founder of Agc, the Italian association of contemporary jewellery, where is in charge of the online Agc magazine, and founder of the newborn W&S, an initiative to promote internationally a selected group of talented Italian designers.
She currently lives and works in Barcelona in Spain with her husband.
